From Hobby to Profession
Back in 2004 I stumbled upon an article about ‘internet marketing’. I didn’t know it at the time but that moment changed my life. I knew that millions of people world wide do make online purchases ranging from hard goods to services and from items worth a few cents to items worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Online trading industry is worth tens of billions of dollars a year. The biggest challenge I encountered when I tried to order a 4-slice toasters online is lack of information. Most of the websites were just providing an item and just the price and no review worth on the item. It dawn on me that many of us are making purchases online and we end up with stuff that we really never needed because of lack of information.
This brought about the desire to provide people with information on specific items by doing research and putting more focus on more specific topics such as 4-slice toasters.
This information when put together as a blog or website will provide the end users of such sites very targeted information, and allows me to be an authority on the topic or product after doing a lot of research.
As my blogs have grown in popularity and have begun to generate income blogging to provide information on a product has grown from a hobby (some would say an obsession), to a part time job through to a fully profession in recent times.
I have slowly built my internet marketing into a income source that has enabled me to dedicate more and more time to the medium to the point where I am currently a full time internet marketer.
